I believe in making a difference to the way Mathematics is taught, learnt and experienced by students in different ways, using creative and innovative ideas and methods of teaching to suit the way each student learns Online teaching has empowered my students to take responsibility for their learning.
Having done my Bachelors degree in Mathematics and Statistics, a Masters degree in Statistics and a Post Graduate degree in Education with Mathematics and Science as methods, I am able to adapt my lesson to teach in the way the student learns rather than make the student learn the way I teach. I have also attended the AP Calculus, AB & BC workshop, and IB,CIE and ICSE/ISC workshops and have taught Mathematics from Grades 5 to 12 in the Indian and International systems in a span of over 18 years, giving me the ability to understand and seamlessly weave together the merits of each system.
Mathematics is about making complex things simple, not simple things complex. This can only be achieved by developing strong analytical, logical and critical thinking. I believe that a student must be able to visualize, verbalize and verify their mathematical processes be it in Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus or Statistics.

In addition I feel, taking Gifted students to the next level in Math gives them the intellectual stimulation to feel challenged. Parents too are encouraged to support and enhance the teaching learning process by engaging in enriching interactions with them. I advise parents too on ways to engage with their children, particularly younger children, to dispel mathematical phobias and nurture the belief in one’s mathematical ability. I recommend relevant mathematical activities, resources, books, websites and links to interactive software to best suit the individual student’s interest and capability.
If thee student is looking for mastery over a particular topic in the syllabus eg, Functions, Trigonometry, Calculus etc., I am only too happy to offer master classes in the specific topic.
In an ever changing world, one has to constantly adapt to the situation, have an open mind to the teaching learning process and realize that Mathematics is an effective language for universal communication. My philosophy is to develop students into independent learners and give them a life long love for Mathematics.

Extremely helpful in Mathematics

Mrs Vaz is someone who was always ready to help me at anytime and on any day. There were times when I lost concentration and she understood that I was saturated and would help me pick up the current topic from the next class. She would send continuous but a fair and doable amount of homework so that I would not forget concepts or lose practice. My grades went from an F to an A* in the IGCSE program in Additional Mathematics, thanks to Mrs Vaz. I am very thankful for all the effort she has put it and for how much she has helped me.
