I believe that teaching / learning foreign languages should be always conducted in friendly and simple atmosphere. I try my best to avoid teaching the complexity of grammar. Grammar is taught in a simple way with less technical jargon. Of course, students who are interested in linguistics and want to know more about how language works, will be given the chance to delve more deeply into the subject and, again, as a linguist myself, I love to share discussion of grammatical issues with my students for their benefit.

As a phonetician, I try to tackle the problems of phonetics and orthography in a tactful way. I am skilled in using "transliteration" of new Arabic words in early stages of my students' study before we embark on a fully-fledged use of Arabic orthography. By this, students would have a good grasp on the both the pronunciation and spelling of Arabic.

Another important aspect which I consider in teaching a foreign language is culture and sociological settings. I always give consideration for cultural and sociolinguistics aspects of the taught language and foreign students. This will make them aware of all the sociolinguistics intricacies of the language when the use it, whether spoken or written.

Fee details

    Rial5–15/hour (US$13.16–39.47/hour)

    For language skills like teaching Conversation Arabic and basic skills, I charge OMR 5 per hour. For advanced classes on Arabic Linguistics, I charge between OMR 10 to OMR 15.
