I learned the traditional carnatic music for more than 20 years and have around 9 years of experience in teaching. I believe the most important aspect of learning classical music lies in the swaras. So, the lessons are structured in such a way as to make the students handle the swaras easily. Vital stress is given to the introductory lessons so that they will get a strong foundation that will make the further lessons easier. This will also help them in learning any musical instruments at ease.
I intend to teach the way of learning swaras with the help of numbers, as my guru preached. I had conducted workshops all over in Kerala, alongside my guru, demonstrating the power/efficiency of this technique. I have been part of the examination panel in one of the carnatic music courses conducted by BSS. I have presided as a judge in music competitions as well.
