I love the interaction and challenge teaching offers.I have spent the last 13 consecutive years in the physical classroom with children ranging from 2yrs to 6yrs of age. I completed my Bachelor's in Foundation Phase at the end of 2019, with a distinction pass in 50% of my modules. This was done via The University of South Afica via distance learning. The majority of the children arrived at my pre-school with very little English, social skills and no interactive skills. The applications were all via word of mouth, from parents and via the children as ambassadors of the school. I am a firm believer in accepting and respecting the children as individuals and encouraging their individuality within socially acceptable boundaries. The pre-school was run on Christian principles, however, all religions were acknowledged and respected. My teaching style is respectful, friendly, loving, encouraging and firm. I decided to take a break from full time teaching in 2020 to dedicate time to training my husband who is training to swim the Bosphorus channel in July 2020. He also participates in the Dolphin Mile on a monthly basis in Durban. I am a qualified swimming instructor, too. All these events are due to take place during school time and I felt it would be unfair to parents and students to be away so often. Unfortunately, due to the Corona virus, we are all in uncertain times at the moment and I am sure the Bosphorus swim will be cancelled in Turkey in July. This leaves me wanting to pursue online teaching earlier than anticipated. I look forward to meeting, getting to know and interacting with your children, online. The safest option in these times. Be safe.
