I am a graded artist of AIR in Hindustani Classical music (Dhrupad), vocalist - teacher and performer. I have trained extensively in Dagarvani Dhrupad in the Guru-shishya parampara from 2014-2020 as a full time resident in Dhrupad Sansthan, Bhopal and later held the role of an assistant teacher there from 2019-2020.
I am a gold medalist in MA Music (Dhrupad) from Rajasthan University, Udaipur. Prior to my Dhrupad training, I have also trained in Khayal and Carnatic music for a couple of years.

I offer one on one sessions and start with the fundamentals of voice production based on the principles of Naad-Yog which is at the core of Dhrupad. The student is at first guided to deepen their understanding of sur(pitch) and the voice through the medium of Raags and develop an acute sense of awareness of the self and the tanpura. Dhrupad is a meditative Classical artform which is inherently introspective and holds a tremendous possibility for one to discover and hone one's hitherto unused/underused vocal potential and even transform one's relationship with oneself and the voice. This is so because the human voice holds the key to unlocking one's deeply held traumas and conditionings, that leads to inner freedom, which then manifests as a free and open voice traversing a wide range. The transformed voice will be one that emerges from the stillness of the mind and silence of the expansive heart.
As this is a serious artform, what I offer is mostly suited to those who are looking to engage with Dhrupad in a deep way and are prepared to commit to a dedicated sadhana/riyaz (practice) routine.
In order to consistently support the progress of students, I encourage them to send recordings of their practice sessions, apart from the fixed weekly sessions. I also provide material to be practiced in the form of voice recordings.
