Hi,

Im Amba. I am a mum to a 6 year old boy, a lawyer and law tutor! I have been interested in teaching/tutoring/mentoring students for some time and have always found ways to do this in all my roles.

I provide teaching on all core subjects with some options too please contact me to discuss any optional subjects.

I have experience of working with students with SEN; dyslexia, ADHD and ASD.

I have experience of teaching A Level Law directly into schools so I am familiar with the exam boards, teaching methods and materials. I have also been accepted to become a contract lecturer for the Open University.

I will help you to learn through application of law to real case studies, as opposed to "throwing a load of information" at you. This is not engaging for you as there is no element of thought for you to be a sponge. i will encourage you to think for yourself and anticipate what the next steps are.

I have found online sessions to be the best form of teaching as they are that little bit more interactive, I like to follow students own course outlines, working towards any upcoming assessments or seminars which need to be prepared for.

I have a patient, nurturing but firm approach. I am fun, approachable and down to earth. I will always be honest and believe that everyone should further their knowledge and would love to be apart of helping someone do that!

I have been tutoring students across all disciplines of law, and differing levels; A Level, CILEX, LLB, LLM, LPC and GDL. I am able to offer other subjects which are listed on my profile as i have experience within these, i am however focusing on Law Tutoring but feel free to contact me to discuss your needs and my availability.

Here's a cringy video of me to introduce myself - https://youtu.be/WBsRWiPNe9A

I offer both face to face and online sessions. Face to face will have added travel costs due to the cost of travel and extra time, but this will be discussed with you.

I also provide a proofreading service for essays, coursework, dissertations etc .I can also provide guidance as to how to structure the essay ahead of writing it so there is a starting point which will help you obtain the best possible grade and not involve a re-write after proofreading.

There are different levels of packages available which are dependant on; word count and turnaround time. All prices include a video call to go through any feedback afterwards. All documents will be returned using a track changes document. Discounts for students already receiving tutoring or for multiple essays, or for a return on the same essay following feedback will apply. Please contact me for a quote.

Assisting fee earners, as well as running own caseload of the following matters; Conveyancing, Family, Private Client, Public Law Children, Change of name Deeds, Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection, Landlord and Tenant and Personal Injury. Within Conveyancing I dealt with residential sales and purchases, re-mortgages, bridging finance, transfers of equity, commercial property, through from inception to post-completion. Within Family matters, I have advocated at Court before the Lay Magistrates, District Judges, Deputy Judges and a Circuit Judge. I have successfully obtained non-molestation orders, special guardianship orders, child arrangements orders, financial orders and prohibited steps orders. I have prepared witness statements, scott schedules and drafted orders. I have prepared briefs to counsel, bundles, and form Es and other documentation. Within public law children matters, I have advocated at Court, attended pre-proceedings meetings, prepared applications to instruct ISW’s and also prepared letters of joint instruction from all party. I have had both private and publically funded matters, therefore submitting legal helps and legal aid applications. I set-up the company facebook page and also took over the firm’s social media accounts for facebook, twitter and linkedin. I suggested and assisted with the firm implementing a new case management system within the first month of my starting at the firm which helped streamline our working processes and also gave us access to our case management service at all times, on the go. This assisted greatly in court as meant we could have digital bundles instead of paper ones and made movements towards becoming paperless. With my own caseload, I ensured that every digital file was an exact copy of the paper file. I exceeded my target of billables for the 17/18 financial year and was well on target for exceeding my target for the 18/19 financial year, all whilst still assisting other fee earners.
