I would consider myself as a focused and sincere teacher who is genuinely concerned about her students understanding, learning and most importantly the interest. It is essential to make a subject interesting for students so that they are keen to learn it. I try to challenge my students by giving variety of problems. I base my teaching on the belief that the only way to learn Statistics (and Quantitative Analysis) is to actually do statistics. While the process of reading examples in textbooks and from power point notes is valuable, the real learning comes through one's own efforts at solving mathematical problems. I strongly believe in the philosophy “Practice makes a man perfect”. With regular practice anybody can excel in their field. This is achieved mostly through class assignments, but also through in class discussions and exercises. I also try to help the students learn to think logically, learn problem-solving methods and techniques, and improve writing skills (writing clearly and concisely, explaining step-by-step processes, providing valid reasons for logical arguments).
