I completed my Master of Arts Degree in English (Applied Linguistics and ELT) from the University of Dhaka. Besides, I completed CELTA (Cambridge English Level 5 Certificate in English Teaching to Speakers of Other Languages) course from British Council, Bangladesh. From the CELTA course, I learned how to make a class student centered by giving them appropriate instructions, providing activities for developing the target language skills, and producing accurate feedback. The course also taught to motivate students to get involved in the given activities to acquire the target language. The Course also assisted me to clarify the MPF (Meaning, pronunciation, and form) of new language to a reasonable depth in the classroom, monitoring closely and responding to learner needs, and eliciting from context.
Now I am working at Primeasia University as a full-time Lecturer. Moreover, I worked at two renowned private universities for about three years.. My allocated courses are English Language courses, Business Communication, and Introduction to Composition. Moreover, I conducted Introduction to Poetry, Developing Speaking Skills, English for Professional Purposes, 18th Century Prose & Poetry, and Introduction to Prose course’s class earlier. However, as a teacher my assigned responsibilities are delivering Lectures, preparing a lesson plan and Course outline, preparing questions, invigilating, checking scripts, publishing results, monitoring and mentoring students as well attending different kinds of workshops, seminars, and cultural programs. These assigned duties have advanced my managerial accomplishment, leadership skill, organizing and planning techniques, and presentation and communication skills. In addition, working with the other department’s faculty members concerning class and exam schedule have enhanced my coordination skill which can be effective to work in a team.
Simultaneously, to deepen my knowledge on qualitative approach, recently I completed a certificate course on Research Methodology at the Institute of Education and Research under the University of Dhaka. This course has enhanced my research conduction and report writing skills. Also, I completed a Business Correspondence course at the University of Dhaka as a part of Graduation Course focusing on memo writing, report writing, meeting minutes writing as well as press release writing. Furthermore, as a teacher, I have developed strong communication skills in oral and written communication. My academic degrees and the provided environment of the department under the University of Dhaka made me efficient in the English Language besides Bengali. Similarly, managing a classroom with 30 to 40 students educated me to communicate competently which I could utilize in making networks with different stakeholders
