My pedagogy is both textual and extra-textual i.e. I teach through the texts in the syllabus but keep referring to the inexhaustible corpora of texts in European and World Literatures and Cultures. My methodology is both based in close-reading of the texts and the new epistemological registers of meaning they generate through intra-, inter- and extra-textual references. I also entangle the texts with literary/critical theory and continental philosophy to tease-out new epistemes and novel ways of meaning making. Of paramount importance to me are also the historical and cultural context through and in which the text is generated, communicated and received through history and time. I also think aloud in discussing the texts and much of which I say is what is there in my notes. I do give notes if required to the student. My teaching style is also Socratic in so far as I raise new questions at the bleeding edge of textual hermeneutics. My references to Continental Philosophy, Western Esotericism, World Mythologies, Film and diverse literary and cultural traditions keep enriching my classes.
