Rakshana Sivasurian is a vocalist, specially trained in Western Classical music. She finished her diploma 2 (3yrs) in western music from KM Music Conservatory, AR Rahman's music foundation in Chennai. She was trained by Nina Kanter (London) in Western classical and by Eric Föster (Germany) and Robert Wilkinson (Canada) in musical theatre. She is currently pursuing Musical theatre. She has learnt and performed Hindustani Light music and contemporary music in the past. She also collaborated with students from Queensland University Of technology, Australia and put up a show in Chennai in 2019. She is a performer and a musical theatre enthusiast. Recently, she has also been part of a musical theatre production 'Ramses' and performed live in Chennai. She has good communication skills, very fluent in English, Hindi and Tamil.She believes anybody with a passion in music can be shaped into a performer ... All it takes is patience and dedication and good training. You will be learning breathing techniques, vocal warm ups and exercises, western theory and everything that's needed to build your voice, strengthen it and shape it in the right way. For beginners we will start from the very basics.. including the anatomy of voice. Teaching will vary for every student as it depends on the level of the student and amount of training required that is the no. of classes and techniques to focus on for different voice type. Pop, western classical, musical theatre and contemporary western music are the genres focused on.
