NSIC Technical Services Centre, Howrah was established in 1961, by Govt. of India in collaboration with Govt. of Japan, with the aim to support the MSMEs and to generate skilled manpower for the industries. This Centre is situated in Industrial Hub, Balitikuri, Howrah (West Bengal) about 10 km from Howrah Railway station and 3 km from Dasnagar Railway station. The core activities of the centre are Skill Development & Material Testing. Skill Development activities of the centre include Internal Training, Sponsored Training, Incubator Training & Project Work for Engineering & Diploma students. Topics included are a vast range from Advanced CNC programming, Mechatronics, Electrical Testing, IoT, Embedded Systems, Motor Transformer Rewinding, and Solar Power to Advanced Integrated Entrepreneurship Development Programme, Fire and Safety, TIG MIG Welding, aptitude training, Advanced Tally Erp, Digital Marketing etc. The centre is also engaged to conduct the Job oriented ITI/ NCVT courses in 7 different Trades for the employability of the trainees in industrial sectors.

We have been catering material testing services for various engineering fields focused on power transmission and distribution lines. Our Electrical, Mechanical and Chemical testing laboratories are accredited by NABL – a constituent body of the Quality Council of India. The testing laboratory of NTSC Howrah is a regular recipient of testing jobs from major Govt. departments like RDSO, Power Grid, BHEL, and RITES. NTPC, Coal India etc. and State Electricity Boards and associated with various power projects all over India.

Our Laboratory is also approved by DGMS, Dhanbad for testing of mines job.
