One of the perks of being a student and a teacher at the same time is knowing exactly how to learn things efficiently and using that knowledge to teach students effectively. Therefore, it would be fair to say that I teach my students the way I would like to be taught. Having taught my two younger sisters for about 2 years, I know how to tackle the short attention span of children of that age and I know how to make a subject interesting. My specific teaching style is to include humor in the teaching process and also use everyday references, like movies or songs. This not only makes the experience less boring but also stays engraved in the student’s brain whenever they encounter a similar reference or question sometime in the future. As a result, thinking of the result becomes much less of a burden, since the answer is related to something which brought the student enjoyment while learning, instead of tension. My strengths would be to teach with an open mind and try my best to answer a question considering I have the knowledge to answer it. In addition to my grades in English language, I have been given the certificate for “Outstanding performance in English Language” in class 4 and I have participated in several writing and reading competitions, including having my creative writing stories and poems be published in the school’s yearbook in several occasions. I don’t know if I can be considered a “great teacher” as that’s not a question I can answer. However, I can confidently say that I am willing to do whatever is required to help my student reach their goals as long as they are eager to help themselves as necessary.
