Hello! Nice to meet you. My name is Sanjay; I was born in England and have been teaching English in London for the past seven years. Recently, my wife and I have moved to Bali and I am looking for interested, hard-working and conscientious students who I can tutor and develop good working relationships with. I will try my hardest to get to know you first and adapt my teaching to suit your interests; I believe that if I can make the learning engaging to you personally, you will learn so much more efficiently! I, myself, am extremely passionate about English; I love to teach any form of Literature, from Shakespearean plays, to classic fiction, to poetry - and everything in between! If you have a set text that you need to learn, revise or complete practice questions for, I would love to be of assistance. Equally, I have worked as an A-Level examiner and I am very proficient in helping students write coursework essays. I have taught English Language for the past seven years too - including speaking and listening. I am happy to coach any level of English speaker with conversational or interview skills, depending on your needs. I hope to hear from you soon!

Experience
Teacher of English (Sep, 2015–May, 2022) at St. James' Catholic High School in London
To provide a safe and nurturing environment for students to learn, challenge themselves and to flourish, regardless of their starting points. I have developed strong relationships with students and staff alike and established myself as a prominent member of the English department at St. James'. I have maintained a positive residual score for my GCSE classes for the past five years. I promote literacy awareness and the importance of reading across the school. Key Stage 5 Co-Ordinator: I designed and implemented a three moduled Scheme of Learning for A-Level English Literature, including a Non-Assessment Examination module. I created and monitored both formative and summative assessments to mirror the A-Level examinations. I analysed and monitored student data; identifying and undertaking the subsequent student intervention when required. I raised the standard of teaching and learning; in the subsequent year of implementing my Scheme of Learning, our department went from ALPS 5 to ALPS 1 for our A-Level results.
Teaching Assistant (Sep, 2013–Jul, 2015) at The Compton School in London
I worked closely with a group of SEND students, assisting them to access the curriculum to the best of their abilities. I attended annual reviews and liaised with parents to enhance support given.
