Hi everyone, my name is Jane and I previously studied at St Joseph's Institution (Independent). I graduated in 2020 with a score of 43/45 points with the following subjects:

Biology: grade 7 (90%), IA score 21/24
Chemistry: grade 7 (89%) IA score 21/24
Economics: grade 7 (79%)

SL:
Chinese B: grade 7 (86%)

Since then, I have also taught in an MOE school where I interacted with a diverse group of youths and received training on teaching and classroom management. Subsequently, I was awarded the MOE teaching scholarship but turned it down to study Medicine.

Over my 4 years of tutoring, I have successfully helped all my students improve by 2-3 grades. I have tutored both local and international school students and am able to cater to the speed and syllabus coverage accordingly. My teaching style includes helping students understand difficult concepts and relating learning to real life scenarios. I also teach students mnemonics and highlight the most important information along the way. After all, there is only so much one can remember. Having gone through the IBDP myself, my familiarity with the type of questions, essential understandings and techniques that worked for me puts me in good stead to teach. I strongly believe in building rapport with my students and actively strive to be approachable, respectful and encouraging in all my lessons. In addition, I utilise my archive of past exam questions to help students hone their exam skills and applied knowledge skills.
