I'm Tharini, a true lover and enthusiast of Science who's also an academic firmly believing in the power of hard work and consistency as the driving forces behind academic success.
The journey of my life has been fuelled by my enduring love for science, the marvels of the human body, the elegance of molecular structures, the intricacies of genetic codes and the mind boggling nature of the infinite cosmos! I also take humble pride in being known as a "straight A" student, later not only being selected to study medicine after Advanced levels but also earning the distinction of being the top student in consecutive years of my bachelor's degree. Currently, I'm engaged in my final year research, where I explore the genetics and mutations of breast cancer. My ultimate goal is to contribute to the field of cancer research and make a positive impact on the lives of those affected by this life-threatening disease.

Beyond my research, I'm passionate about education. I enjoy sharing my knowledge to help students unlock their potential in science and health education. Recognized for simplifying even the most challenging theorems, I break down intricate concepts into their fundamental elements. My teaching approach is personalized, adapting to each student's understanding level, and I prefer interactive sessions with the traditional yet highly effective whiteboard teaching technique, distinguishing my classes from typical online formats.

As I continue my journey as a budding scientist and educator, my commitment is to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications. With dedication to both research and teaching, I aim to inspire the students I engage with, leaving a lasting impact on the scientific community and beyond.

    Almost half a decade of experience in tutoring students from grades 6 to 11, both for National & Edexcel curriculums. Tutored and prepared 4 students for the GCE O/L Examination in the year 2022, with 3/4 of them securing As for Science.

    රු1,500–4,000/week (US$5.02–13.38/week)

    Charges vary on the grade of the student, the curriculum, the time of the day, whether classes are held online or physically and depending on the number of students in one session.
