• Working knowledge of process flow diagrams, piping & instrument diagrams, mass & heat balances, basic piping system design, pump sizing, material handling methods, equipment, functional & installation specifications, as well as process instrumentation & control principles
• Applies engineering principles and expertise during project development and in support of other refinery departments as needed. Produces engineering designs for projects on Capital Plan to improve safety, operation, maintenance, and profitability of refinery within department standards and environmental regulations Supports project engineering with work scope development
• Participates in development and implementation of operator training, operating manual input, management of change (MOC) development, HAZOP reviews and recommendation follow-up, P&ID review and verification
• Performs engineering activities in all project phases including feasibility/economic studies, conceptual design, identification and evaluation of alternatives, front-end design, detail engineering, construction and startup/commissioning. Ensures engineering, operations and maintenance requirements are addressed
• Operate compressors, scrubbers, and evaporators to liquefy or compress gas. Prepare and process gas for utility companies, Calculate gas ratios. Detect abnormal specifications. Test oxygen for moisture content and purity. Degasify natural gas using compressors, scrubbers, and refrigeration equipment.
• Operate treating plants, chilled water gas conditioning skids, reciprocating natural gas compressors, TEG dehydrators, fluid separation equipment, valves, and gas measurement equipment, De-pressure equipment and pipelines. Respond appropriately to emergencies. Remove and replace filters, oil, chemicals, and other lubricating fluids. Remove and replace valves and gaskets. Repair reciprocating natural gas compressors
