Hello! My name is Tania. I have been an educator for 17 years. I absolutely love teaching and learning. My intrinsic reward is to help you reach whatever goals you have for yourself; it is my purpose. I have high expectations of myself and will have high expectations of you. If you are looking for an English teacher, I would be a great fit if you learn through repetition, conversation, and meaningful reading and writing centered around rich literature and your background. Grammar is embedded within authentic speaking, listening, reading, and writing exercises. For optimal learning, I believe students must spend time within the zone of proximal development (ZPD). They must struggle with content before they master it, especially language. With patience, effective teaching, and inspiration, I believe students can learn whatever they set their hearts and minds to.
I supply most materials. I ask that you come prepared with ambition, a positive attitude, and a notebook!

I can tutor math if the student is an English speaker.

I used realia, SMARTBoard technology, and authentic text to bring my lessons to life. Most importantly, I built positive relationships with students and considered their interests in my lessons.
