I have a Master´s degree in Aeronautical engineering and a B.Sc. in Chemical engineering. I have one-year experience as a lecturer where I was given the opportunity to teach various engineering courses such as Thermodynamics, Fluid dynamics, Mathematics and Mechanics. I have also a three-year teaching experience on BTEC level 3 Aeronautical Engineering program. During my time at university I have managed to develop my independent thinking capacity, devotion, dedication, hardworking nature and good ability to structure tasks in an effective manner whilst completing them on time. In addition, I have acquired a solid and diversified foundation of knowledge relating to math and science. Being exposed to many new experiences, cultures and life styles has shaped me to gain invaluable experience and a diverse range of skills that’s enhanced my ability to adapt to any environment and challenges that may rise.
I have a vast amount of experience working in teams throughout my academic and professional career, where I was able to support and work alongside my peers to meet strict objectives. I have also been elected as team leader on numerous occasions, where I had the opportunity to demonstrate and showcase my management traits, allowing me to enhancing my leadership skills. One of the main lessons that I learnt whilst working in diverse groups was being able to come out of my comfort zone allowing me to grow in confidence, this has certainly increased my team working skills. My ability to publicly speak out has also been developed, as I was put forward to present on numerous occasions during the course of my degree.
Nevertheless, I believe teaching is an art just like a painting or music, you have to be gifted. I say this due to the experience I have attained from the past. I believe some people have the knowledge and wisdom on the subject, but are unable to express it to others. Teaching is not just about knowing a subject, instead it is about knowing a subject and being able to share it to others in a clear and concise way. In order to do this the most fundamental attribute a teacher must have is being able to motivate their student and control the classroom as well as making his/her lessons engaging.
