Hola!!! my name is Mary and I am a passionate foreign language teacher with 10 years of experience in teaching Spanish and English. My goal as a teacher is to instill a love of language and culture in my students, while also providing them with the skills and knowledge they need to become confident and proficient speakers of Spanish/English.

I am an experienced Spanish language teacher with 5 years of teaching experience in Spain. During my time in Spain, I fell in love with the language, culture, and people, and I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and love of the Spanish language with my students.

My experience of living and teaching in Spain has given me a deep insight into the language and culture, and I bring this knowledge and experience to my teaching. I have taught Spanish to a wide range of students, from beginners to advanced learners, and I am able to adapt my teaching methods to meet the unique needs and interests of each student.

My journey with the Spanish language started with my bachelor's degree in Spanish from JAwahar Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, India followed by a master's degree, MPhil degree and PhD in the same subject. Since then, I have been teaching Spanish to a diverse group of students from various universities like Delhi University, Amity University, Doon University, and Delhi Institute of Hotel Management. Besides, I am teaching to many school kids in different international schools like IB, IGCSE, CBSE, etc. all over the world.

I believe that language learning is not just about memorizing vocabulary and grammar rules, but about immersing oneself in the culture and traditions of the language being studied. To this end, I strive to create a dynamic and engaging classroom environment that encourages active participation and fosters a love of learning.

As a language teacher, I believe in the importance of providing students with a strong foundation in grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. However, I also believe in the value of practical, real-world language skills that can be immediately applied in daily life. I incorporate a variety of teaching methods, such as interactive activities, multimedia resources, and authentic materials, to help students develop their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

In addition to language skills, I also emphasize cultural awareness and sensitivity in my teaching. I believe that language and culture are deeply interconnected, and that an understanding of the cultural context in which a language is spoken is essential for effective communication. I encourage students to explore the history, traditions, and customs of the countries where Spanish/English is spoken, and to develop an appreciation for the rich diversity of cultures around the world.

As a teacher, I am committed to creating a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and making mistakes. I strive to build strong relationships with my students, and to provide individualized attention and feedback to help each student achieve their goals.

Overall, my teaching philosophy is centered on the belief that language learning is a lifelong journey that requires dedication, perseverance, and a willingness to embrace new experiences and perspectives. I am excited to share my passion for Spanish/English with my students, and to help them develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed both in and outside the classroom. Apart from teaching, I am working with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB)of India as an interpreter and Translator, which has given me a deep insight into the practical application of the Spanish language in various fields.
