Hello. I am a Creative Writing teacher. Many students have trouble translating their ideas from their heads into exciting stories using all the tools such as descriptive words and exciting setting and character details. As the Principal of my school, I saw the need to assist the students in linking the ELA Language skills to the Writing skills. As such, I created a programme of work that gets the students to write full stories in a short space of time. I teach students how to write better by examining the works of Enid Blyton and the writers of the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series. We also use Pixar films such as Toy Story and Monsters Inc.
I give individual feedback, pointing out Grammar, Spelling and structural errors. I work with the student until the piece is finished. It is almost like riding a bicycle. I hold the handlebars until you get your balance and can do it for yourself. It is important for students to be able to express themselves in their own style of writing.
I am not the teacher who gives you my pieces to learn, instead, I believe in showing you how to successfully write so that it follows with you to Secondary school.
