I am a dedicated Literacy Specialist with over 12 years of experience, primarily at the secondary level. My passion lies in helping students develop strong reading and comprehension skills that empower academic success across all subject areas. Throughout my career, I have consistently demonstrated success in improving students' reading levels—particularly through the strategic use of online tools and digital resources that support differentiated instruction and engagement. All the students who were a part of my Reading programme have become successful adults with their own careers and businesses.
I have done the following:
(i) Designed and implemented Individualized Intervention Plans (IIP).
(ii) Integrated phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension strategies across subject areas.
(iii) Provided targeted support to struggling readers and writers.
(iv) Demonstrated and awareness of the cultural, linguistic, and developmental factors that impact literacy.
(v) Worked extensively with at risk boys who were non-starters or reluctant readers.
(vi) Designed and adapted literacy curricula and instructional materials.
(vii) Used online tools and platforms to enhance literacy learning.
(viii) Designed and implemented the Literacy Programme at my school.
Whether supporting struggling readers or adults seeking literacy development, I bring patience, innovation, and a data-informed approach to every session. My goal is to unlock each learner’s potential and ignite a lifelong love for reading.
