My name is Sheila and I am known as Teacher Ella to my students. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Post-graduate teaching certificate from one of the best teaching schools in my country, Philippine Normal University. I hold a TEFL qualification and received intensive training for accent, grammar, exam preparation (IELTS and PTE), and English for Kids to teach English as a second language.

I've been working as an IELTS instructor and examiner since July of 2018. My teaching strategy is very personalized and student-centered. I understand that not all students are the same and they have their own styles of learning. I help my students get familiar with various test components by administering practice tests, and by finding strategies on how to manage their time effectively especially in tasks that may overwhelm test-takers easily. It is also my responsibility to offer test-taking tips and to provide feedback on practice tests. It is important to note that preparing for IELTS can't be done overnight because IELTS measures a student’s proficiency in various English skills, thus, the test is divided into listening, reading, writing, and speaking sections. You have to give yourself enough time to prepare for all these components in order for you to easily achieve your target band score but I promise to help you get ready in the least amount of time.

I love teaching English because it is challenging and very rewarding. I had students who started very shy and under my guidance, became confident and competitive. I am very passionate about what I do because English is not just another language to learn, it creates opportunities and endless possibilities. For some people, it even made their dreams come true and I hope I can help someone make some of their dreams come true too.

HANDS ON TEACHER!

Teacher Ella is really a hands on teacher. She was able to identify the areas that needed improvement and focused on that to enhance my capabilities as a student. She motivates her students and gives them additional paperworks to be able to practice offline. I was able to pass my IELTS exam because of her! Thank you so much teacher!!

The best IELTS tutor :)

All of the lessons of Teacher Ella is very helpful for IELTS preparation, and because of her, my English improved significantly.
