I have done my case study on a Mentally retarded child for 6 months.
While teaching a special child we need to fix a short term goal for the child and that short term goal should be an activity which will enable the child to perform his/ her daily living activity or a lesson for their livelihood independently.
I used to teach the child with props, such as pictures, charts, etc. I also give them prompts, and by giving them rewards help them to achieve their short term goals.
I make children enjoy their studies and to accomplish their given task.
I feel glad to work with those kids who are really a gift from God and they accept us if we go down to their acceptance level.
I train children who are enrolling for NIOS
