🎹 Piano Teacher & Performer | 19+ Years Experience | Film Composer | AR Rahman Collaborator

Trained under Dr. Surojeet Chatterji—an LrSM laureate and the first Indian to receive a full Soviet scholarship awarded by the then Prime Minister of India—I was mentored in the finest traditions of the Russian school of piano playing. Dr. Chatterji, an alumnus of the prestigious Moscow Conservatory, was awarded the Aspirantura, Russia’s highest music degree, in 1982.

I began playing the piano at the age of 9, and over the past 24 years, I’ve built a strong foundation in classical and contemporary music. I hold a Distinction in Grade 8 Piano and Western Music Theory, and I’m an alumnus of Dr. A.R. Rahman’s KM Music Conservatory, where I trained intensively for 2 years in both the Russian piano technique and music production.

🎶 Highlights & Experience
• Performed alongside Maestro A.R. Rahman at the United Nations General Assembly (2016) – a tribute concert honoring the legendary Dr. M.S. Subbulakshmi
• Former member of A.R. Rahman’s Sufi Ensemble, with performances across India and abroad
• Founder of the music band Raag Band and an active YouTuber sharing piano, fusion, and film music
• Working in the Tamil Film Industry for the past 5 years, composing for short films and feature films

🎼 Teaching Philosophy

When I teach, my primary goal is to foster a healthy, creative, and growth-oriented environment. I maintain a positive and energetic space in every lesson and develop customized curriculums for each student based on their individual needs and goals.
Whether a student is learning classical repertoire or exploring improvisation over chord charts, I emphasize the importance of solid technique, attention to detail, and effective practice strategies. This approach empowers students to learn pieces independently between lessons—building both confidence and injury-free playing habits.
I’m deeply passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience, and I look forward to guiding new students on their own musical journey. My background in piano performance, accompaniment, and music therapy helps me nurture well-rounded, expressive pianists.
