I have been deeply immersed in Indian classical music from an early age, with over 17 years of rigorous training in Hindustani vocal music under the esteemed guidance of Pandit Santanu Bandyopadhyay, a revered 6th-generation exponent of the Bishnupur Gharana. This journey through the traditional guru-shishya parampara has shaped my musical foundation, instilling in me not only technical skill but also a deep reverence for the art form.

Alongside my vocal training, I have also studied tabla under Sri Kajal Chakraborty of the Farrukhabad Gharana. My guru is a disciple of the legendary tabla maestro Pandit Anindo Chatterjee. This dual exposure to both melody and rhythm has enriched my understanding of the intricate interplay between raga and taal, essential to Indian classical music.

Over the years, I have performed and continued to learn as a devoted student, engaging with the vast repertoire of ragas and rhythmic cycles that form the core of our classical tradition. This lifelong dedication has allowed me to experience firsthand the depth, complexity, and spiritual power and psychological aspect of this music.

Now, with a strong grounding and years of experience, I consider it both a responsibility and a privilege to pass on this knowledge. Teaching has become an extension of my learning—a way to keep the tradition alive while adapting it for new generations. Through my students, I strive to share not just the technical aspects of music, but also the discipline, emotion, and cultural context that give it life.

At 23, my journey is far from complete. I continue to explore, perform, and refine my art, committed to evolving while staying true to the roots of the gharanas that have shaped me.
