knowledgeable, committed, and experienced Arabic teacher
Ustadh Shaahid was my IB Arabic literature teacher for MYP 5 and Diploma program levels at The Overseas School of Colombo from 2024 to 2026.
He has a deep understanding of Arabic literature, grammar, and textual analysis, and he always encouraged me to think critically and express my ideas confidently.
What I appreciated most was his patience, dedication, and ability to adapt lessons according to my level and needs.

IB curriculum Arabic language
I’ve been learning Arabic under the IB curriculum with Ustadh Shaahid for more than 2 years. He makes lessons really easy to understand. I used to find Arabic a bit hard, but now I feel much more confident, especially in reading and grammar. His classes are fun and never boring.

Excellent learning experience
I am currently enrolled in an Arabic course under Ustadh Shaahid Raza, and I must say it has been an excellent learning experience. His teaching style is exceptionally well-suited for English-speaking students, with clear explanations and an approach that makes Arabic accessible and engaging.
One of the standout features of his teaching is how well he organizes the topics. Everything is presented in a logical and methodical way that builds understanding step by step. This structured approach makes it much easier to grasp complex concepts and progress with confidence.
What I particularly appreciate is his ability to provide deep insight into understanding the Qur’an. The lessons go beyond just language mechanics and help students connect with the deeper meanings of the text.
I highly recommend Ustadh Shaahid Raza to anyone who is serious about learning Arabic in a clear, structured, and meaningful way.

Highly recommended for Arabic and Tafseer
I have had a very good experience learning Arabic to understand the Quran with Ustadh Shahid. He explains Arabic lessons in the simplest and most practical way, which has helped me understand Arabic grammar much better, even though it is a difficult subject. His self-written notes are very clear and well structured, and the exercises given with each lesson really help with revision and reinforcement. Overall, his teaching approach has made Arabic grammar easier to understand and more enjoyable to learn. I highly recommend Ustadh Shahid to anyone who wants to learn Arabic with a strong foundation.

A Patient and Methodical Teacher of Nahw and Sarf
Alhamdulillah Ustadh Shahid Raza is very patient teacher who keeps his students motivated.
In one year with the grace of Allah he has managed to take students through botj Nahw and Sarf, diligently ensuring they grasp every aspect of the lesson.
Sheikh Shahids Mathematical acumen is clearly observable in the way he logically links the various connected word patterns, creating an atmosphere of clarity and ensuring that the lesson sticks for all students bi iznillahi tha ala.

Highly recommended for Fiqh and Tafseer
I have been learning Tafseer from the book تفسير الجلالين and Hanafi Fiqh from the book مراقي الفلاح with Sheikh Shaahid for around six months. He explains complex topics in a clear and easy manner and is very patient during lessons. He is knowledgeable and well-prepared, and I have gained a lot from studying with him. I highly recommend him to serious students of knowledge.

I attended his two-day workshop on Islamic Inheritance laws. Alhamdulillah it was very interesting, informative and easy to understand with the charts and summaries. Ma sha Allah the workshop was superb and the notes given were comprehensive and well presented.

Muhammad Shaahid Raza has in depth knowledge of the Arabic Knowledge and Islamic Jurisprudence. He can put difficult to understand topics into simple words so that anyone is able to grasp the concept. He also actively addresses doubts and prompts questions into students minds so that they may get a clearer understanding. He also promotes critical thinking to make sure student can form their own understanding of the subject natter and not just repeat what the teacher is saying.
