Hi! I'm Alefiya Abbas - an enthusiastic educator with a degree in English Language and Literature from the Arab Open University in Kuwait.

I've spent the last five years working closely with students of various age groups and academic levels, helping them grow and succeed in their learning journey. I specialize in English and other core subjects, and I love making lessons simple, fun, and engaging.

Thanks to my youthful perspective, I’m able to build strong, relatable connections with my students. This helps create a comfortable space where they feel encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and genuinely enjoy the learning process.

Whether it's phonics, reading, writing, grammar, or general studies, I use creative and student-friendly techniques tailored to each learner’s unique style. I offer both online and in-person tutoring, always adapting my approach to what works best for each student.

My goal is simple: to help students make steady, meaningful progress...no matter how big or small. I believe in growth over perfection, and I’m here to support each learner every step of the way

Experience

  • Learning Support Assistant (Aug, 2024Present) at The English School - Kuwait
As a Learning Support Assistant for Year 5 (Key Stage 2), I work closely with students across all core subjects, offering both in-class and small group support. My role has allowed me to develop strong skills in simplifying complex topics, building student confidence, and creating engaging learning experiences.

I regularly assist with lesson delivery, provide targeted academic support, and help prepare resources. I also step in to lead classes when needed, which has strengthened my ability to manage learning independently and adapt to various teaching styles.

This hands-on experience translates directly into my work as a private tutor, where I focus on making learning accessible and enjoyable. Whether it’s guiding students through reading and writing using phonics, helping with maths strategies, or encouraging good study habits, I aim to create a positive and structured space for every learner to thrive.
