Being in touch with mathematics from last 13 years I have realized that students generally face difficulties in those areas where they do not able to link mathematics with real life.

before teaching any topic I try to address some particular questions
1) why to study this
2) real life examples where it can be used
3) how this topic is used in other fields of mathematics
4) if possible how to approach geometrically
when all these questions are addressed before any specific topic I feel half work is already done
and addressing all doubts of student at the end is full work done.
