Hey student! I am a certified Chartered Management Accountant & a subject expert for my core courses, with 6 years of corporate experience in Finance & 9 years of teaching these favourite subjects of mine.

As a student, in your opinion, makes a reliable teacher? Here's what I believe & what's also reflected throughout in my teaching style & has been creating delightful results for students:
One-to-one teaching methods need to be custom-built for each student's specific needs.

To be able to do so, I highly motivate my students to vocalise all their confusions & make them feel comfortable enough to ask questions & share their opinions - no matter how silly they might sound to them, any questions that pop in mind must be asked.
Because obviously, they are learners after all!
Allow them to open up! It makes the adaptability stage quick & effective.

Competitive subject knowledge is the mandatory prerequisite, but a good teacher possesses the art of effective transfer of that knowledge, perfectly adjusted for student's unique set of traits, learning pace, strengths & weaknesses. This, exactly, is the essence of one-to-one tutoring.

BRING THE CONCEPTS TO LIFE:
Practical, and at the same time, simple examples - that are easily observable & relatable at the student' level, are a MUST for effective knowledge transfer! Especially for the technical subjects that I teach.

Althought I learn to improve my ways constantly, but all above combined, has been generating great results. Students feel that the subjects are made up of not all alien concepts, completely unrelated to their pre-existing knowledge but just daily life observable phenomenons at the core. This relatability then highly improves their brainstorming ability, gives them confidence & relieves stress, resulting in improved learning & amazing results.
