Hello! I’m Coach Jimzon Trangia, an Arena Grandmaster (AGM) online chess coach from the Philippines with a peak FIDE rating of 2180, a 2200+ National Rating, and 2500+ online ratings on Chess.com and Lichess.

I am a multiple-time chess tournament champion with years of competitive experience in local and national events. As both a competitive player and experienced coach, I help students improve not only their chess skills but also their confidence, discipline, focus, and practical decision-making during games.

With over 10 years of coaching experience, I have trained students from around the world — from complete beginners to competitive tournament players. Many of my students have achieved significant rating improvements and won prizes in different chess competitions.

    Arena Grandmaster with over 8 years of experience coaching students from beginners to advanced and competitive players worldwide. Successfully trained students from different age groups, including young learners, professionals, and adult players, helping many achieve significant rating improvements and stronger tournament performances.

    Over the years, many of my students have gained hundreds of rating points through structured and personalized coaching, with some improving by over 1000 rating points within a year. My coaching focuses on building long-term improvement through tactical training, positional understanding, opening preparation, middlegame planning, and practical endgame techniques.

    I have coached students primarily from the United States and other international countries through online platforms, providing interactive lessons tailored to each student’s goals and playing style. My teaching approach combines game analysis, puzzle-solving, practice games, and detailed feedback to help students apply concepts effectively in real games.

    As an active and experienced competitive player myself, I bring practical tournament experience into every lesson, helping students improve not only their chess knowledge but also their confidence, discipline, and decision-making under pressure.

Fee details

    ₱650–800/hour (US$10.57–13.01/hour)

    P650 per session (1 hour). If you pay for 10-session package.
