Hello! This is Adam O'Domhnaill.
I'm a British national from London, United Kingdom
I have completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with a 2:1 classification in International Relations and Politics at the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom. I have a 120 hour TEFL qualification and am currently completing a 130 CertTesol qualification with Trinity College London
I have been staying in Hong Kong since September 2021, working as a permitted English teacher at Po Kok Secondary School. I followed this up in June working at Shap Pat Heung Rural Committee Kung Yik She Primary School, and am based here until summer 2023. I hope to stay in Hong Kong for longer, working as an ELTA or a NET teacher.
As part of my role, I have experience teaching the following subjects: Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary Building, Grammar, General Writing, Creative Writing, Business Writing, Oral English, Pronunciation, Listening, English Literature, Debate skills, Phonics and Stressed sounds. Working in a secondary school, I regularly helped S6 students prepare for speaking and writing sections of the HKDSE. I have also prepared students for the P1 and S1 interview procedures.
With my time in Hong Kong and previous volunteering work at an English language camp in Austria, and in the UK, I have worked with all English abilities, from none to almost fluent, working with students of all ages.
Apart from English, I can also speak very basic Mandarin.

    I am employed in the local Hong Kong school system. This year I work in a primary school, and last year I was in a secondary school. I work with students of all ages, helping them improve their English. I primarily focus on speaking, but I also do a lot of work on reading, writing, and speaking.

Fee details

    HK$300–600/hour (US$38.27–76.53/hour)

    Fee changes depending on whether there is travel involved for me, but will happily negotiate on a case by case basis.
