Teaching is a peculiar gift and to me, it is a tool I use to self-express and aid learners in reaching their fullest potential. My enthusiasm for teaching English Language and Literature in English is seen through the ways in which I deliver the subject classes both in and outside the classroom. I teach using various methods which include presentations, research activities, the assigning of oral or written projects and also through tutoring sessions. Ever since I started teaching, my IGCSE, AS and AL learners have scored between 60-100% pass rate grades when they were under my care for both subjects. I believe that teaching and learning are a two-way street, so I am willing to learn from my students and I use an open door approach which paves way for dual interaction between myself and the learner(s). I am continually developing my skills through extensive reading and teaching using newer methods. Overall, all learners are different, so I use student-specific teaching techniques during my interactions instead of having an all-hands-fit-the-glove approach.
