Tabla is not just sound—it’s emotion, history, and conversation. My journey began with curiosity, but today, it is my life’s rhythm.
Namaste. I am SAICHAND, a passionate Tabla player, carrying forward the art of Tabla playing in the legacy of the Punjab Gharana under the tutelage of Pandit Nishikant Barodekar, who is a direct disciple of the legendary Ustad Alla Rakha Khan.
My journey with Tabla began as a fascination—a simple curiosity that soon grew into a lifelong devotion. Over the years, I’ve realized that playing Tabla is not just about rhythm and technique—it’s about telling stories, expressing emotions, and creating a conversation between the beats and the SOUL. "Preserving the art of Tabla is not just about playing—it’s about sharing, teaching, and inspiring future generations."
I've been fortunate to perform at prestigious venues across India, accompanying my Guru in many amgnificent recitals, sharing the stage with legends like Pandit Shounak Abhishek and Srinivas Joshi, Keyboard Sathya and even being part of a grand 140-violin symphony. Each performance is more than just an event; it’s an opportunity to breathe life into tradition and carry forward the wisdom of our musical heritage.
But my journey is not just about performing—it’s also about teaching and inspiring. Passing down the art of Tabla is as fulfilling as playing it. I believe that music education should be more than just technique; it should weave in philosophy, emotion, and a connection to something deeper. That’s why I strive to integrate storytelling, thematic learning, and innovation in my sessions—to make learning an experience rather than just practice.
I am adept at accompanying Hindustani Classical and Carnatic music with remarkable versatility. I also excels in playing the Cajon. I am also an effective and enthusiastic orator, further enhances my capability to share the depth of rhythm and melody to my audience and students.
Music, especially Tabla, teaches patience, discipline, and creativity. It has the power to uplift and transform, to bring people together, and to create moments of pure joy. My mission is to keep this rhythm alive—not just through performances, but by inspiring future generations to however discover their own musical journey. Music transcends language, culture, and time.
Let’s keep the rhythm ALIVE. If you wish to explore the art of Tabla, join me in this journey. Thank you.
