I am an accomplished public health educator, a Professor of Public health and a consultant Epidemiologist. I chaired the Planning Committee that established the Master of Public Health Programme in the College of Public Health and Health Informatics, Umm Al Qura University, Saudi Arabia where I work. I was formally the Programme Leader/Reader for the postgraduate programme in public health, Oxford Brookes University, UK. My background is in Human Nutrition and Public Health. Apart from having Master of Public Health I also hold a Master of Science in Epidemiology. My PhD is in Public Health / Health Economics where he estimated the costs and cost-effectiveness of adding Hepatitis B into the expanded programme on immunization (EPI). My training and education were from universities with high reputations. I am an alumnus of the University of Ibadan; South Bank University; Imperial College, University of London, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health, UK. My work experience includes universities, ministries of health in Africa and the Middle East as well as the National Health Service / Primary Care Trust in the UK. I have an extensive experience in devising and conducting complex research programmes that cover a wide range of public health topics. Well-versed in implementing robust institutional policies and procedures to establish a high-performance culture in which students and staff actively engage in meaningful learning experiences to meet overall requirements. Adept at assessing needs and devising strategic action plans. Demonstrated expertise in using a manipulative approach in classroom to support and drive students' conceptual understanding. I co-authored 4 Research and Public Health books and led many peer-reviewed journal articles. My research areas include enhancing capabilities of health care professionals in public health, occupational health risks from exposure to Nano-particulates, infectious diseases epidemiology and Enquiry into students' health behaviours and wellbeing.
