Hello, my name is Abdikher Hassan. I recently graduated from Mount Kenya University with a degree in English and Literature. I offer home-based tutoring in Eastleigh and nearby areas, helping secondary and primary students in languages [English and Kiswahili], school students, and adults as well to do better in English and other arts subjects, based on requests.
I like working with students both online and physically. My approach is simple: I go at a pace that works for the learner.

How I Work with Students

Whether it is writing a better composition or understanding a story, I try to make every topic as practical and visual as possible. I also give assignments and revision tasks to track progress over time. Learners gain through:
1. A clearer understanding of topics by breaking down content into visual diagrams and sketches
2. More confidence in English, literature, and writing through practicing dictation, listening to audio and visual aids
3. Practical tips that improve grades through consistent check-ups
A calm, patient learning experience is provided by giving summary charts and PDF notes.
Short videos and examples that they can relate to concerning the preferred content to be delivered.
4. Help that’s adapted to how the student learns best
5 . For adult learners, l use WhatsApp to send relevant content and revision materials, and with those still young, get the same through parents' WhatsApp contact

Experience

As part part-time trainer in English and Kiswahili. My roles are as follows;
1. Teach structured English and Kiswahili classes to beginner, intermediate, and upper-intermediate level adult students with a focus on functional communication.
2. Tailor teaching of English and Kiswahili to cater towards the needs of business individuals, unschooled adults, and mixed-language groups by using culturally relevant examples and bilingual support in the nearest setting, and provide translation to their mother tongue.
3. Support vocabulary expansion and situational practice to develop confidence in social and working contexts by providing diligent work experiences in adapting simple functional means, so that adults can grasp concepts.
4. Utilize simple digital technologies (e.g., WhatsApp, PowerPoint, audio files, whiteboard ) to provide long-term learning assistance and lesson summaries for adult learners, especially business individuals of Somali language speakers for business communication purposes.
5. Lead an open, respectful learning environment that is accessible to a range of ages, abilities, and learning goals, and maintain the timing of learners since they engage in different tasks over the day, and for some failure to attend, I will give the content posted on the WhatsApp group.
6. Monitor the progress informally and provide one-to-one tutoring to facilitate learner improvement in speaking and understanding, mainly to improve basic communication.
