Being an IITian (from IIT Madras, the best IIT rank-wise among all the original IITs and otherwise), has given me a very clear idea about what one must do in order to crack one of the most difficult exam, IIT JEE Mains & Advance because I, myself have gone through it.
What I found out is this: In true sense, Maths is the easiest, most logical and universal subject that actually be learned and understood, and anyone can do it with proper guidance. You can clear ANY exam if you start to love the subjects.
But how do you develop love for Maths?
The answer is: by going through the process in which you:
1. Spend 3 hours daily for self practice,
2. Solve EVERY doubt by maintaining a doubt notebook to record all doubts in maths in a day,
3. Making daily brief notes of whatever you study, in the formulae notebook,
4. Focusing on learning the processes used in the concepts,
5. Solving one questions with different methods,
6. Using Graphs intensively as an alternate approach to each questions,
7. “Learn to OBSERVE: look for the clues in the question when stuck”,
8. Learn some process which will help you when you are unable to figure out a way to reach answer, or confused: The simple down method: simplifying any complex problem into easier one and then observing the pattern, or The break down method: breaking down a big problem into small steps, etc etc
These are just a few.
Keeping check on all these points, will give an insight about the actual maths behind Maths.
This process will bring a change in you, increasing your IQ for rest of your life. It’s like training of mind.
It will bring a change in your life, just like it did in mine.
I love maths and I love explaining it to those who wants to learn.
***So if you want me to guide you and work with you on this journey where the process has a power to change your life, you will have to commit to give minimum 3 hours as self study DAILY for math, among many other things. Only looking for hard working students! ***
One becomes good at Maths when he/she learns to connect the dots behind the scenes, and that is what the focus should be while explaining the concept.
The KEY to master this subject is to observe how it works, the logic to be used behind it and to practice it honestly and sincerely with proper guidance, help and doubt solving.
ANYONE and everyone can become good at Maths if
done smartly with hard work.
If tutor/teacher is good, he will bring the subject to the level of the students understanding. He plays an important role in the life of a student. He can make students fall in love with maths, or make them despise the subject. And i believe i can make any student fall for math all over again.
So a sincere advice for you: if you want to be passionate about maths (or any other thing for that matter), choose the teacher wisely!
