GunasundariOnline - Bharathanatyam,Carnatic music
No reviews yet
Hi. I am a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and Carnatic vocal musician. In performing arts I also teach Acting including 3 major components Mind, Body and voice.
Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music - I am looking to teach beginners and dancers who want to learn Bharatanatyam for recreational purposes. I have practiced and trained the art form for more than 15 years now. I am a disciple of late Guru Dr Saroja Vaidyanathan from Delhi. I teach the Tanjore/Thanjavur style of the dance. I believe in creating a safe and healthy environment around my classes (especially mentally) for my students. There wouldn't be any shaming allowed towards the students if they fail or make mistakes in classes. If a technique feels too overwhelming we might work around it slowly together. Focus for newcomers will be more on basics building and strengthening them and eventually moving on to choreographies/Compositions. Patience and consistency will be two basic things I would encourage my students to practice. Arts can help Children and adults with deepening their relationship with their bodies and minds, along with strengthening their creativity.
