As an educator, I believe that teaching is not just a matter of imparting knowledge and skills but about consciously inspiring and motivating students to become lifelong learners. My teaching philosophy is centered on creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that fosters student engagement, motivation, self-awareness, and creativity.

With a background in special needs education, I understand that no one method fits all students; therefore, I develop an individualized plan for each student to foster and monitor their development.

My main objective is to promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. I also believe that students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process and when they are given opportunities to explore their environment and discover new ideas by themselves.

With over ten (10) years’ of teaching experience, I strongly believe in the learner-centered approach of teaching. Therefore I know that each student can learn in the right environment and with the right support. I also motivate my learners to develop interest in what they learn. With these strategies, I have supported many students to achieve academic excellence.

With a Bachelor of Education Degree in Special Education (Hearing Impairment) with ICT, I teach Integrated Science, English, and Information Communication Technology. When it comes to languages, I teach English, Twi, Ghanaian Sign Language, and American Sign Language. At the undergraduate level, I teach basic audiometry (pure tone assessment, otoscopy, and amplification). Thank you.

Experience

  • Integrated Science Teacher (Basic 4-9) (Sep, 2013–May, 2023) at Omega schools Franchise- Central Region
    I taught Integrated Science from Basic 4 to Basic 9. I also had the honour to work as an assistant science specialist which required that I set science questions for all the 30 schools across the country. I also worked as a Saturday Remedial Classes facilitator, helping students to know how to solve questions in the Basic Education Certificate Examination.
