About Me:

I am Anupama Abraje, a dedicated Carnatic vocal tutor from Kerala, with over 10 years of teaching experience. I have a passion for sharing the beauty of Carnatic music with students of all ages and backgrounds.

In my classroom, age and gender are no barriers to learning. I firmly believe that education is for everyone, and I strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all my students.

Teaching Experience:

I have loved every moment of my teaching journey, as I've had the privilege of meeting students with unique voices, learning styles, and personalities. Despite their differences, they all share a common passion for singing, which is what makes teaching so rewarding for me.

Teaching Methodology:

My teaching approach is structured and comprehensive, covering all aspects of Carnatic music vocals. I start with the basics and gradually move on to more advanced levels, ensuring that my students have a solid foundation in the subject.

Some of the topics I cover in my classes include:

- Sarali and Janti Varase
- Geethams
- Swarajathis
- Varnams
- Keerthanas of Thyagaraja, Deekshithar, and Purandara Dasa

In addition to these, I also teach:
- Bhajans

To ensure that my students become proficient in Carnatic music vocals, I emphasize the importance of:
Shruthi Matha Laya Pitha

- Shruti Shuddham (perfect pitch)
- Tala Baddham (rhythmic accuracy)

Regular Practice Sessions:

To help my students reinforce their learning and build confidence in their singing abilities, I conduct regular practice sessions every two months. These sessions provide a platform for students to practice singing in front of an audience, receive feedback, and learn from one another.
