Arjun PatelMaths and Further Maths GCSE/AS/A Level Tutor
No reviews yet
I am Arjun Patel and I am a dedicated student attending the University of Warwick for Mathematics. I have a passion for Maths and I love how it feels to help others understand the subjects I am so enthusiastic about.
It started when, as part of a school programme, I privately tutored a bottom class Maths student. After an about a month, he had gained enough skills and confidence in the subject to move up a set after excelling in a few tests in a row.
I was so proud to see him shine and actually enjoy maths - and eventually I began to tutor more and more, attempting to widen my reach to other students like me who want to learn and improve.
Since then, I have garnered over 2 years of private tutoring experience with 3 wonderful students and I look forward to continuing to teach many more!
My lessons are for Maths and Further Maths students at GCSE/AS/A Level of any ability. My 1-hour lessons typically involve 3 sections: 1) A content overview. I explain the topics of the lesson, giving examples and reasoning, and answering any potential questions. I have often made my own walkthrough videos too, especially for diagram work. 2) Quickfire Questions - to check you understand the content. 3) Exam Style Questions - past paper or exam-style questions to get you used to the type of question you’ll see in the exam.
I attained straight 9s at GCSE and 4 A* at A Level (Maths, Further Maths, Physics, EPQ) so I know the best ways to teach, understand and remember the content. I have over 2 years of private tutoring experience - all students saw improvements in not just their work, but their passion for the subject. For example, a Maths student of mine managed to move up a set soon after tutoring began!
Here are some student reviews from my Superprof Profile:
"Arjun has been my tutor for 4 months now and has been a massive help. I have gone from a low 6 to a 7 nearly 8! He is super nice and will go through anything you are uncertain of. His resources are amazing, and was tailor made to my understanding of the subject. I would 100% recommend Arjun to anyone who needs help with Maths of any skill set. Thank you so much for everything Arjun :D" - Isobel, Year 11
"I'm a fellow student in Arjun's classes and I can attest that he is better than any adult Maths teacher we have. Arjun's patience and not least his kindness is unrivalled when he's teaching. I am astonished by the persistence he has to get me to understand something I'm struggling with, constantly thinking of new angles to approach it and giving me a hi-five when the concept finally clicks. When I fail to understand something in Further Maths, Arjun is always willing to set aside time to provide guidance and help. I recently had an hour and a half session with him on Decision Maths and we managed to sift through two whole chapters worth of content in a way that I was able to easily understand. I really cannot recommend him more. He is kind, he is passionate, he has ambitious aspirations and I've never seen him get below 90% in a test. If you have Arjun as a tutor, you will share his top grades!" - Harry, Year 13
"Arjun is a brilliant explainer who excels at pretty much everything he does. He's friendly and kind in addition to being a great teacher and role model." - Harrison, Year 13
