I completed my PGCE at Goldsmiths University of London after graduating with a 2.1 from studying a BA in Education Studies. I am a teacher with more than 10 years of experience in the UK and Middle Eastern school setting.
The nature of my work in education has prepared me for this position. My interest in improving student's reading levels stimulated me to lead a project on Fluency. My role here was to help students better practice becoming readers who possess skills such as rate, accuracy and expression. As part of this, I had to liaise with the grade level teachers, meaning that I have developed skills in leadership and critical thinking. The impact of the project overall was successful and this was measured by students' MAP results.
In addition, I have successfully employed a growth mindset approach when teaching and found that this led to many positive student outcomes, such as displaying a different attitude towards challenging tasks. A key part of my career is helping students reach their potential, which I work towards by focusing on students' needs when teaching. As shown by my experience in schools, I am enthusiastic about education and always strive to do the best for my students. I also have the determination to ensure that I make a success of this role.
I am a British national and was educated in the UK. I have been raised to value education as a key pillar of the future of our society. I have my Google Level 1 Educator Certificate and I am currently doing my Level 2 Educator training in the hopes to further my Google training and become a certified Google Trainer. Being an Edpuzzle Certified Coach has allowed me to coach my team members on innovative ways to integrate technology in the classroom so that it is impactful. I am a Kagan trained teacher and enjoy involving technology in my lessons. Having worked in both private and government schools, in both deprived and affluent areas of the UK and the Middle East, I am a flexible and responsible team player who is able to adapt to her environment. I also have excellent communication and time management skills. I am an empathetic, passionate and motivated individual who is committed to my own training and professional development. I look forward to life’s challenges and rewards as well as making a difference to the lives of children in any and all situations. "Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave" Old Arabic Proverb.
