I am a phonics teacher who is passionate about making a difference and who is committed to high standards of achievement, inclusion and pastoral care. I am a very astute in my approach to teaching Phonics. I also have several years of experience teaching and training both children and adults. I have a special affinity with children, so I usually adopt a child-friendly approach to the teaching of Phonics. I also painstakingly devise special methodology to suit children of various age, class and background. In addition, I am very skilled in the use of British, American and Nigerian curriculum.
My main focus is to help children who are just beginning to read to understand how letters are linked to sounds (phonemes) to form letter-sound correspondences and spelling patterns and to help them learn how to apply this knowledge in their reading. I also try to assess the needs of the individual pupil and tailor the instruction to meet specific needs.
