I can teach Human Anatomy, Clinical Surgery and Human Physiology. I have flexible teaching methods and use a blend of styles depending upon the capabilities and capacities of the students taking the lecture. I can demonstrate diverse concepts and skills with ease, provide guidance and support in understanding, prompt students with questions and provide opportunities for discussion and reflection to encourage active learning. Moreover, I can use technology comfortably to illustrate the concepts through models, drawings, pictures, short video clips, examples etc. While I allow students to take notes, I prefer that they should develop their critical thinking skills. The aim is to understand the concept rather than to memorize the concept.
Along with all the above, I keep the environment comfortable and receptive. My previous students have performed exceptionally well in their tests, and they were satisfied. Some of my students have been my colleagues as well and they have repeatedly made it a point to emphasize how my teaching style has influenced their abilities as doctors. I also have experience guiding my the post graduate medical students in writing dissertations and authoring articles for medical journals. Their dissertation and the manuscripts were accepted for publication on the first submissions. In terms of my interpersonal skills, I am adaptable, a good listener, creative, empathetic, engaged, patient, and respectful - all of which speak to my ability to be a good teacher.
