Experience

  • Academic Faculty- International Curriculum (Jul, 2024Mar, 2025) at Shiv Nadar School Gurugram
As a Language and Literature educator for the MYP (Year 1 and 2) at Shiv Nadar School, I taught as part of the International Baccalaureate- Middle Years Program framework for nine months, delivering engaging, concept-driven lessons aligned with interdisciplinary goals. In addition to classroom teaching, I contributed to the development of unit plans, assessments, and learning engagements tailored to the IB philosophy. I was also part of the core team involved in the school’s consultation and authorization process for the MYP, supporting curriculum documentation and aligning practices with IB standards.
  • Language Educator (Apr, 2015Mar, 2024) at Kansai Soka School System
With 9 years of experience across elementary, junior high, and high school levels, I developed and implemented engaging curricula, enhancing student language acquisition and cultural understanding. Successfully integrated English literature for native speakers into the EFL curriculum through meticulously curated discussion sessions, tailored to student proficiency levels. Spearheaded an intensive language competency program that significantly boosted TOEFL scores, leading to 88% of participating students not only achieving their target scores but also getting selected for admission into U.S. universities.

For elementary level first graders, I pioneered the development of brain-focused learning worksheets to activate key brain areas involved in language learning, such as the Broca’s and Wernicke’s areas for language processing, and the hippocampus for memory consolidation. This approach, underpinned by principles of "neural education," was meticulously designed to optimize neural pathways for enhanced EFL acquisition, significantly boosting comprehension and retention among seven-year-olds.

Played a pivotal role in establishing collaborative teaching initiatives within a Japanese educational framework, alongside Japanese colleagues. This joint endeavor not only harnessed our collective strengths but also significantly contributed to breaking down cultural stereotypes, leading to a more inclusive and supportive work culture. Through this collaboration, we effectively dismantled barriers and fostered mutual learning, which markedly enhanced student engagement and modernized traditional teaching methodologies.
