Hi! My name is Lia and I'm a recent IBDP graduate who scored 42 points with 7s in HL Chemistry, HL Mathematics AA alongside an A for TOK (perfect score for TOK Essay) and an A for Mathematics Extended Essay. My strengths lie in teaching TOK and Mathematics. Currently, I am an incoming first-year undergraduate student in King's College London studying Economics & Management (and perhaps Mathematics).
My teaching approach leans towards understanding and teaching students to enjoy the process - two qualities I believe a student who wishes to achieve consistently top grades must acquire.
For TOK, I teach the student by first helping them understand the prompt and what the examiners look for in terms of both structure and content. I guide my students in exploring their ideas and ways to link back to their prompts. With a perfect score in my TOK Essay and enjoyment in the TOK subject itself, I am confident that I am able to be a dedicated tutor who is able to guide students in achieving a grade A for their TOK courseworks.
For IB Mathematics, I believe the best way to teach the subject is through understanding and repetition. My teaching style lies in identifying my student's main problem through providing them exam questions and proceeding to curse a teaching plan personalised towards them. I am also willing to help review Mathematic courseworks, including IAs and EEs. With an A in my Mathematics EE and a thorough understanding of the rubric, I believe I can provide valuable insight and feedback for my students.
