As a result of working on computer for over 50 years I understand what businesses are looking for in an IT professional. I gladly share that knowledge.
I use stories I have personally experienced or know of that emphasize concepts being taught.
I strive for a relaxed but enjoyable classroom atmosphere.
I believe a bored student is not learning and is not getting their money worth so I include a lot of hands on tasks that reinforce lessons being taught.
I encourage students to ask questions and truly believe there is no stupid question since I am sure I asked many myself. Shyness had no place in the classroom.
Finally there is more than one way to teach a concept and it is my job as a teacher that works for each individual student.
