I believe on the understanding of concepts of any topic. It is very important for a student. If She / He can get it then definitely the performance will good.
So, being a teacher I focus on it . Different examples should be presented to make the students more clear. Detail explanation of topic is also needed sometime .
Then I strict on question - answer session. I feel it shouldn't be avoided as it helps the teacher to measure the understanding level of student about the topic explained.
Tasks should be given. It helps the student to implement their knowledge. Also it is important for a teacher to check the given tasks.
After completion of single unit, I feel that test should be taken .
These are the ways I follow to teach .
