I've been in English language education for 25 years, which has given me a pretty unique perspective. I started teaching primary school kids back in 1999, moved into corporate training and HR roles, and have been a Cambridge English Speaking Examiner since 2013. What's interesting about my background is that I've literally worked with every age group - from teaching 5-year-olds their first English words to helping working professionals crack IELTS for overseas opportunities.

Currently, I'm a freelance IELTS trainer and still actively examine speaking tests for Cambridge English. I've also examined for the Occupational English Test, which healthcare professionals take. This examining experience is honestly invaluable because I see exactly where students struggle and what actually impresses examiners versus what people think impresses them.

At Aim English Services, I spent seven years managing training programs and ensuring quality standards, so I understand how to structure learning effectively. I'm British Council certified for IELTS training and hold TKT Module 3 from Cambridge.

What I enjoy most is that no two students are the same. Whether you're a nervous teenager preparing for your first Cambridge exam or a confident professional who just needs to polish specific skills for IELTS, I adapt my approach based on what works for you. My students often tell me they appreciate the honest feedback - I'll tell you exactly where you stand and what needs work, but I also make sure you feel supported throughout the process.

My background in program management means I'm organized, track progress systematically, and believe in honest feedback – even when it's not what you want to hear.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe most people already know more English than they think they do. My job isn't to teach you English from scratch – it's to help you organize what you know, fill in the gaps, and build confidence to use it effectively under exam conditions.

I'm also realistic about timelines. While I can help you improve efficiently, I won't promise Band 8 in four weeks if you're currently at Band 5.5. Good preparation takes time, and I'd rather set honest expectations than false hopes.

I'm comfortable teaching both online and in-person, and I work with individual students as well as small groups.
