Teaching English was not my original career path when I majored in English in college—it was meant as a preparatory step toward law school. However, my journey led me to become an ESL/EFL tutor, a role I have passionately embraced for the past 25 years. Throughout my career, I have worked with students of all ages, from young learners to high school students and adults, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. While I have taught students from various Asian countries, the majority of my learners are Japanese.

One of my key accomplishments as an English tutor is writing three books designed for beginner English learners. These materials have proven highly effective, as many of my students have progressed from having little to no English proficiency to successfully passing the EIKEN exam. My teaching style is often described differently depending on the learner—children find me engaging and fun, while high school students see me as structured and strict. Understanding that every learner has a unique learning style, I adapt my teaching methods based on their age, proficiency level, and individual needs.

Beyond language instruction, I also provide academic support in subjects such as Science and History for ESL students. My expertise lies in EIKEN exam preparation, specifically for levels 5 to 3.

I believe in delivering personalized lessons that cater to each student’s unique learning goals. By tailoring my approach, I ensure that learning English is not only effective but also enjoyable and engaging for every student I teach.
