Namaskaram! Vanakam! I’m a passionate and traditionally trained Bharatanatyam teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience, specialising in the Pandanallur style, known for its purity, precision, and grace.
My journey in Bharatanatyam began at the tender age of 4, and I have been immersed in this divine art form ever since. I was trained under the esteemed Smt. Hemalatha Gurumoorthy, a direct disciple of the legendary Guru Vempatti Chinna Sathyam Pillai, whose lineage and teachings I take great pride in carrying forward.
Over the years, I have choreographed 15+ full-length margams and had the privilege of performing at prestigious temples and cultural spaces such as Thanjavur, Chidambaram, Tirupati, Mylapore, Mysore, Nellore, and Mangaluru — each performance rooted in devotion and classical integrity.
What makes my teaching unique is the balance between technique, expression, and theory. In my classes, students not only learn the physical aspects like adavus, jatis, karanas, and abhinaya, but also dive deep into the theoretical framework of Bharatanatyam, exploring Natya Shastra, Abhinaya Darpana, mudras, mandalas, and angaharas. This comprehensive approach ensures that students develop a holistic understanding of the art, both on stage and in spirit.
I have also trained numerous students for certification and diploma exams, ensuring they are well-versed in both practical and theoretical components. My teaching is methodical, student-centred, and highly interactive — even in the online format. I provide individual attention, regular feedback, and personal corrections to help each student progress with confidence and clarity.
Previously, I served as a senior faculty member at Kalyani Natya Kalalaya, where I mentored dancers of all ages and levels, choreographed thematic group productions, and guided students through arangetrams and stage performances.
Today, through my online classes, I continue to spread the timeless essence of Bharatanatyam — offering structured learning to students across the globe, from beginners taking their first steps to experienced dancers seeking depth, discipline, and artistic growth.
If you are looking for a traditional yet supportive learning experience, where Bharatanatyam is taught not just as a dance, but as a way of life, you are most welcome to join my classes.

Bharathanytam Teacher (May, 2014
–Sep, 2024) at Kalyaani Natya Kalaalaya
I had the enriching opportunity to serve as a senior faculty member at Kalyani Natya Kalalaya, a reputed institution known for nurturing classical talent in Bharatanatyam. During my tenure there, I was actively involved in training students across multiple age groups — from beginners to advanced-level dancers.
My role extended beyond just choreography and practical training. I focused on building a strong classical foundation in students by teaching Adavus, Margam items, Nattuvangam, and also extensively incorporating theory classes covering mudras, bhavas, karanas, angaharas, and essential concepts from Natya Shastra and Abhinaya Darpana.
I also played a key role in choreographing thematic presentations and group performances, preparing students for stage shows, arangetrams, and cultural festivals, while maintaining the classical integrity of the Pandanallur style. My time at Kalyani Natya Kalalaya helped me develop a deep understanding of pedagogy, ensuring each student progressed with discipline, clarity, and confidence.
This experience significantly shaped my own approach as a teacher, allowing me to blend tradition with teaching methods that are accessible, inclusive, and tailored to each learner's pace — a value I continue to carry into my current online classes.
